Upheld By The Lord (Poem)

Upheld By The Lord Lifted up and carried, forever safe within God’s arms; Sheltered and protected, secure from all that might alarm. Borne upon Jesus’ shoulders, precious sheep within the fold; Held closely to His bosom, which God’s mighty arms enfold. Upheld by the loving Shepherd, He will help and He will save; Your name is there upon His lips, on His hands you are engraved. Fear not, child of God - Jesus will never fail you, nor forsake; He’s pledged to watch over you - His promises He will never break. The Lord is with you, He will strengthen you, draw you with cords of love; Reaching down from Heaven, filled with countless blessings from above; Clasping tightly to your hand, your Saviour will never let you go; He will give you the grace to stand, regardless of any foe. Mounting high above the world, held aloft by eagle’s wings, Underneath are everlasting arms, in His presence your soul sings; Embraced within this shelter, there’s renewed strength for those who wait; Reaching down ...

Are You Washed In The Blood? - Hymn by Elisha Hoffman

Are You Washed In The Blood? (Hymn by Elisha Hoffman) Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing pow'r? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?   Chorus: Are you washed in the blood, In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb? Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Are you walking daily by the Savior's side? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Do you rest each moment in the Crucified? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? When the Bridegroom cometh will your robes be white? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright, and be washed in the blood of the Lamb? Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin. Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean. O be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

Once For All - Hymn By Philip Bliss

Once For All (Hymn written by Philip P. Bliss) Free from the law, oh, happy condition! Jesus has bled, and there is remission; Cursed by the law and bruised by the fall, Grace has redeemed us once for all. Refrain: Once for all, oh, sinner receive it; Once for all, oh, child, believe it; Cling to the cross, the burden will fall; Christ has redeemed us, once for all. Now we are free, there's no condemnation; Jesus provides a perfect salvation; Come unto me, oh, hear His sweet call; Come, and he saves us, once for all. Children of God! oh, glorious calling! Surely His grace will keep us from falling, Passing from death to life at His call; Blessed salvation, once for all. Seven times in Hebrews 9-10, it states that Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins is once for all, one sacrifice forever: Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place , having obtained eternal redemption for us. Hebrews 9:26 For then must he often have...

Great Is Thy Faithfulness (Hymn)

Great is Thy Faithfulness (Words by Thomas O. Chisholm) Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my father! There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not: As thou hast been Thou forever wilt be. Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest, Sun, moon and stars in their courses above, Join with all nature in manifold witness To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth. Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide, Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! Chorus: Great is Thy faithfulness, Great is Thy faithfulness, Morning by morning new mercies I see: All I have needed Thy hand hath provided Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!

God Is Still God (Poem)

God Is Still God Through every great blessing, through every sore trial, God is still God - He’s working in your heart all the while. Through every heartache, through every cry and tear, God is still God, and your Redeemer is always near. Through every dark time, through every refining season, Jesus knows the answers even when you don’t know the reason. When life is so difficult, and all things seem to oppose, The Lord opens the doors you thought were forever closed. Through every affliction, through every dread and fear, The God of all comfort is with you, and He will always hear. Just trust your Shepherd fully, through each and every day; In the struggles you face, the Lord will always make a way. When nothing seems to be working right, and clouds darken your view, Remember God is still God - and He is still good to you. The Lord gives blessings to us, and the same Lord takes away; God still loves you, and He is still God at the end of the day. God will surely lead you; the Shepherd ...

God's Workmanship (Poem)

God’s Workmanship Line upon line, each day Jesus Christ is working in me. Transforming every single page, changing the outcome that I see. Not a free verse poem, there’s order and progression in my life; My Father has His perfect plan, bringing eternal glory out of strife. Laying out His framework, the pattern He sees still; Writing out each fresh verse according to His will. There’s a rhyme and a reason, He has a purpose in His mind - In each finished stanza of my life, many wondrous delights do I find. Maybe my story will be a new song, a hymn to the Risen Lord, Where each part flows into the next, working all out in one accord. The melody sounding forth from a spirit that once was broken, Transformed by the Spirit of God, now filled with praise outspoken. One day, God’s ballad will be complete, my time here at an end; The light and shadows, the trials and triumphs, will all be in perfect blend. When the lyrics of my life are over, my symphony will one day cease, Oh may You be please...

The Day Of Christ (Poem)

The Day Of Christ The day of Christ is coming - we pray that it won’t be too far away. There’s a hope and a rejoicing as we think upon that day. A day of accountability - a day of reckoning or reward; Can we say, in light of His return, that we have lived sold-out for our Lord? In the day of Christ, we will find many of God’s promises are fulfilled; Glorified and in Jesus’s presence - will your soul say that it is thrilled? First, the rapture to take us to Heaven; what a reunion to behold, When we get our first glimpse of the New Jerusalem and walk the streets of gold. Then, at the Judgement Seat of Christ, we will reap what we have sown. Will it be a time of sorrow or of gladness when we stand before His throne? Seven years of blissfulness, then the marriage supper of the Lamb - Are you excited and hopeful for the future, to be with the Great I Am? We are confident of this very thing: that Jesus will continue the work that He began. We can trust our all to the Saviour, knowing He will...

Write It On My Heart (Song)

Write It On My Heart When trials come into our lives, they are here only for a season; As I walk with You, Lord, You teach me they’re all here for a reason. And I know one day soon these trials will have an end - Write it on my heart, my Friend. Living each day by faith in Your Word, and not walking by sight, I may not know the future, but I still see Your footprints in the night. You are the God of my life, the Saviour on which I can depend - Write it on my heart, my Friend. When the trials become overwhelming, I know You will make a way; I’m trusting You in the darkness - until my night is turned into day. When my heart’s broken in pain, You’re the Great Physician who can mend - Write it on my heart, my Friend. Jesus, You are my True Friend that sticks closer than a brother; Looking back on my life, I see You cared for me like no other. And I know that everything will be alright in the end - Write it on my heart, my Friend. I know that one day soon my trials will come to an end - Wri...

Not My Will, But Thine (Poem)

Not My Will, But Thine Lord, I know You have power to heal me.  Faithfully, I will daily seek Your will. Like Job, I will keep my eyes upon You - Though You slay me, I will trust You still. Though sometimes the trials we face, The reasons we may not understand,  But I know that everything I face in life - Every test or trial - comes from Your hand. Dying to myself, I know, You will work all things out in Your own way; Will it be soon, I wonder, Or on some future glorious day? I believe that one day that is coming, I will be healed fully in Your sight - Will it be down here upon the earth, Or in the land where there is no night? All that I have and I face each day| Comes from the heart of my loving Father; So I’m trusting in Your will, my Lord - Trusting in the wisdom of the Heavenly Potter. May 30th, 2026 Jerry Bouey (Dedicated to brother Bob. We long for your healing, but will trust the Lord to work out His will.) Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I wi...

When We Stand Before The Lord (Poem)

Some teens in our church went to a student convention last week, to compete with other sound Christian schools around the world. One teen came back today with the challenge that I turned into a poem. Hope it challenges you too. The challenge is the first line of the poem. When We Stand Before The Lord "When we stand before the Lord, what will we have to show?" Will we receive praise from the Master, or will He have to answer, no? When all our good works are examined, will they really stand the test? Will they be built from precious stones, or will they be burnt up like the rest? When we stand before our Father, will He truly say, “Well done. You’ve died to yourself daily, did all in the name of My dear Son. You’ve showed to the lost world the Gospel treasure in jars of clay - Come, My precious child, enter into the joy of your Lord today.” At the Judgement Seat of Christ, will we have reason to sing? Will we have lived our lives for His glory, a precious offering? Will it be ...

By Faith (Poem)

By Faith By faith, Abel worshipped the Lord When he offered his sacrifice on that day. Believing in the coming Lamb of God,| He came to the altar by faith in God’s way. By faith, Enoch walked with God - So dedicated to the Lord he did not roam; He pleased his Heavenly Father so very well, He did not taste death when the Lord took him home. By faith, Noah worked for God; His family was saved from wrath outpoured; Kept securely with the animals upon the flood, Preserved in the ark, shut in safely with the Lord. By faith, Abraham waited on God, Though he did not receive the promises in his day; He looked to the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ - Now all who believe are his children by faith. By faith these believers all worshipped and waited; By faith they all walked with the Lord day by day; By faith they served their Heavenly Father faithfully; Oh consider their examples of faith today. What will you do by faith in the Lord? Will you worship and wait and walk in His way? Will serve yo...

Longing For Home (Poem)

Longing For Home The days don’t seem as bright now that you are gone. I miss your presence and the beauty of your smile. I remember all the joys we shared throughout the years, Knowing you were with me through every tear and trial. Looking forward to seeing you again - yes, I’m longing for home. The world has lost its lustre, something is missing in this place; I look around beside me, and I long to see your face. Everything reminds me of your hugs and the comfort of your touch. Knowing that I will miss you - even my heart can’t express how much; But then I look above with joy and hope, and find I’m longing for home. A place where the light is always on, Where the warmth of love fills each room, Where Jesus wipes each tear away, And removes the shadows and the gloom. A place of brilliant sunshine, where no pain can ever dwell; Walking daily by your side and listening to the stories you tell. Remembering all these things with joy and laughter in my heart, I long to be with you forever, ...

Rock Of Ages (Hymn)

Rock Of Ages (Augustus Toplady) Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee; Let the water and the blood, From Thy riven side which flowed, Be of sin the double cure; Save me from its guilt and power. Not the labor of my hands Can fulfill Thy law's demands; Could my zeal no respite know, Could my tears forever flow, All for sin could not atone; Thou must save, and Thou alone. Nothing in my hand I bring, Simply to the cross I cling; Naked, come to Thee for dress; Helpless, look to Thee for grace; Foul, I to the fountain fly, Wash me, Savior, or I die. While I draw this fleeting breath, When mine eyes shall close in death, When I soar to worlds unknown, See Thee on Thy judgment throne, Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee. Exodus 33:17-22 And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will ...

He Hideth My Soul (Hymn by Fanny Crosby)

He Hideth My Soul (Fanny Crosby) A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, A wonderful Savior to me; He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock, Where rivers of pleasure I see. Chorus: He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock That shadows a dry, thirsty land; He hideth my life with the depths of His love, And covers me there with His hand, And covers me there with His hand. A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, He taketh my burden away; He holdeth me up, and I shall not be moved, He giveth me strength as my day. With numberless blessings each moment He crowns, And filled with His fullness divine, I sing in my rapture, oh, glory to God For such a Redeemer as mine! When clothed in His brightness, transported I rise To meet Him in clouds of the sky, His perfect salvation, His wonderful love I'll shout with the millions on high.

Springs Of Living Water - by John W. Peterson (Hymn)

Springs Of Living Water (John W. Peterson) I thirsted in the barren land of sin and shame, And nothing satisfying there I found; But to the blessed cross of Christ one day I came, Where springs of living water did abound. Chorus: Drinking at the springs of living water, Happy now am I, my soul they satisfy. Drinking at the springs of living water, O wonderful and bountiful supply. How sweet the living water from the hills of God! It makes me glad and happy all the way. Now glory, grace, and blessing mark the path I've trod I'm shouting "Hallelujah" every day. O sinner, won't you come today to Calvary? A fountain there is flowing deep and wide. The Saviour now invites you to the water free, Where thirsting spirits can be satisfied. John 4:13-14 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a ...

Love Lifted Me (Hymn)

Love Lifted Me (Lyrics: James Rowe) I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more, But the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry, From the waters lifted me, now safe am I. Chorus: Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help Love lifted me! Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help Love lifted me! All my heart to Him I give, ever to Him I'll cling In His blessed presence live, ever His praises sing. Love so mighty and so true merits my soul's best songs; Faithful, loving service, too, to Him belongs. Souls in danger look above, Jesus completely saves, He will lift you by His love, out of the angry waves. He’s the Master of the sea, billows His will obey, He your Savior wants to be, be saved today. For a devotional on this theme, see: Sinking In The Mire Matthew 14:22-33 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side...

Learning To Trust (Poem)

Image
Learning To Trust I am learning, Lord; Growing stronger day by day. There’s a closeness, there’s an intimacy With You, when I kneel and pray. I am leaning, Lord; Depending so much more upon You. When the world crowds in around me, You are the only one I long to view. I am loving, Lord; I’m no longer the person I used to be. Through Your Word, I am transformed, I see Your Holy Spirit working through me. I am listening, Lord; Whether these raging storms come or stay; Trusting in every trial, in every situation, I know in my heart, You will make a way. Making molehills out of mountains, With hind’s feet, I now have the victory. Growing in my faith, by leaps and bounds - I pray others can see Jesus Christ in me. I am learning, Lord. May 13th, 2026 Jerry Bouey (Dedicated to my Sister in life and Sister in Christ, Lori Tremblay. Happy Birthday, Sis!) He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places. Psalm 18:33 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the wor...

His Name Is Jesus (Song)

His Name Is Jesus In the shadows of our world, God sent forth a shining light; There’s a hope stirring within that breaks through the darkest night. He’s the Desire of the Nations - He’s the God who can see us. The prophets have proclaimed, thou shalt call His name Jesus. He is Jesus! Chorus: His name is Jesus - He came to seek and to save; He is Jesus - He will rescue from the power of the grave; When He knocks at your heart’s door, won’t you let Him come in? If you heed His Gospel call, He will save you from sin. He is Jesus. He came unto His own, but Him they would not receive. Jesus Christ is the Messiah - but they would not believe. He is the one we’ve been waiting for all of our days; He’s the only true Redeemer - He is worthy of our praise; His name is Jesus! Chorus. From the cross of Calvary to the silent, empty grave, He’s the only Saviour who has risen - the only one who can save. Won’t you trust in the Good Shepherd; can’t you hear Him calling you? From the realm of eternity...

If Ye Love Me... (Poem)

If Ye Love Me… If you’re religious and of the world, say you love Jesus - that’s the most popular way. But Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” - We show our love to Him when we obey. Anyone can profess spirituality - that’s always been the way of men; But if you want to truly please the Saviour, you must be born again. It’s not a mouth that’s filled with words that sound pleasing to the ear, But a humble heart that’s filled with faith - that’s to whom the Lord will come near. Don’t be a worldly wiseman, full of religious thoughts that you have not observed; Be a dedicated believer, who takes and applies God’s Holy Word. It’s the Bible that transforms our hearts, opened up to us by the Holy Spirit. It’s not merely those who have a Bible that are blessed, but those heed and hear it. If you want to show your love for Jesus, get into that precious Book today. But don’t just think about what you read - hide it within your heart; trust and obey. God will draw near to those wh...

Compel Them To Come In (Poem)

Compel Them To Come In (Luke 14:16-23) All things are now ready, sinner, come in from the cold, Come in from the streets and lanes, enter into His fold. Calling for the blind, when your sins have blocked your view. Calling for the lame, when your sins have crippled you. Calling for the poor, there is great treasure still in sight; Come in from the darkness, come into the light. There is yet room in Heaven for whosoever will, Come into the Father's house, and walk on Zion's hill. Turn away from your sins, the Lord is calling still. Compel others to come in that My house may be filled. Go out into the highways and the hedges, and compel them to come in. Go into all the world and tell others about Him. Tell them all about the Saviour who died to make men free, Tell them all about Jesus and His love for you and me. Go out into the highways and the hedges, and compel them to come in. Shine the light of the Gospel into a soul dark and dim. Witness of the Lamb of God who paid sin...
