My Hymn Of Praise (Song)

My Hymn Of Praise

“It is well with my soul;” “He keeps me singing” “Day by day.”
“His name is Wonderful,” “He took my sins away.”
“Standing on the promises” - “I am resolved” to “Trust and obey.”
“Jesus is coming again” - “What if it were today?”

“All hail the power of Jesus’ name,” “Oh, He’s done so much for me.”
“I know whom I have believed,” - “Saved by the blood” “At Calvary.”
“My faith has found a resting place,” “A shelter in the time of storm;”
“Safe am I” in “The Haven of rest,” “Leaning on the everlasting arms.”

“Onward, Christian soldiers,” “Hold the fort” “The fight is on;”
“Stand up, stand up for Jesus;” “We’re marching to Zion.”
“All hail the power of Jesus’ name;” There’s “Power in the blood.”
“Faith is the victory,” “When the enemy comes in like a flood.”

“‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,” “His name is Wonderful” to me.
“When we all get to heaven,” “Praise Him, praise Him,” “What a day that will be”!
“Face to face with Christ, My Saviour,” coming to Him “Just as I am;”
I will see “My Saviour first of all” - Oh, “Worthy is the Lamb”!

I love those old hymns of the faith. They are so precious to me. I know I could never hold a candle to their work, but I wanted to honour those songwriters and their faith. Here is my attempt to take just a few of my favourite hymns, and weave their titles into a song of sorts. I included one of my own poems in this song to make it flow, as I could not find a hymn ready at hand that would fit that stanza. Hope you don't mind too much.

Psalm 33:3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

Psalm 40:3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

Psalm 96:1 O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.

Psalm 98:1 A Psalm. O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

Psalm 144:9 I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

Psalm 149:1 Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

Isaiah 42:10 Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

Revelation 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

Revelation 14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

Nailed To The Cross (Song)

Nailed To The Cross

The accuser of the brethren does his job very well;
He wants to condemn us and remind us of Hell.
But I went humbly to Jesus, laid all my sins at His feet;
When my past comes to haunt me, I won’t give in to defeat.

(Chorus)
My sins are nailed to the cross,
My sins are nailed to the cross;
I have a new home in Heaven, because of the cross -
My sins are nailed to His cross.

Jesus Christ is the Way, He is the Truth, and the Life,
He shed His blood on Calvary to bring to us new life;
Though your sins may be as scarlet, and your past black as night,
He can wash them away, and make you clean in His sight.

(2nd Chorus)
Your sins are nailed to the cross,
Your sins are nailed to the cross;
You have a new lease on life, because of the cross -
Your sins are nailed to His cross.

Oh my friend, come now to Jesus, the Truth and the Way;
Leave your sins with the Saviour - He will take them away;
And though you may seek them, know that they are truly gone;
If they come back to your mind, you can still carry on.

(3rd Chorus)
Your sins are nailed to the cross,
Your sins are nailed to the cross;
Jesus paid the price, He bore the cost -
Your sins are nailed to His cross.

John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Colossians 1:12-14 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Colossians 1:19-22 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Colossians 2:9-15 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Footprints In The Sand (Poem)

Footprints In The Sand

One night I dreamed a dream.

I was walking along the beach with my Lord.

Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.

For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord.

When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand.

There was only one set of footprints.

I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life.

This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.

“Lord, You told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way.

But I’m aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints.

I just don’t understand why, when I need You most, You leave me.”

He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings.

When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you.”

Exodus 19:4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.

In Exodus, we see the High Priest with the names of the children of Israel borne upon his shoulders and next to his heart. Jesus is our great High Priest, and what Aaron pictured in Exodus, Jesus is the reality. If you have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, He always carries you on His shoulders and next to His heart.

Exodus 28:12  And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial unto the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial.

Exodus 28:29 And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before the LORD continually.

Deuteronomy 32:11-12 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

Deuteronomy 33:27a The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms...

Psalm 37:23-24 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

Psalm 145:14 The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.

Song of Solomon 8:5 Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee.

Isaiah 40:11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Isaiah 49:15-16  Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Luke 15:4-5 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
