The Light In The Darkness

Struggling within my darkness,
Feeling hopelessly lost and alone;
Oftimes I fear the voice that I hear
Crying out aloud is my own.

Shattering the silence,
Wondering if I can ever find
Someone who cares and would even dare|
To give me hope and peace of mind.

And reaching out in the darkness,
Calling out to be heard,
There’s a shining Light that breaks through my night,
Coming from within Your Holy Word.

Reaching out through the darkness
Is the Saviour who died for me -
A prisoner within, enslaved to my sins -
But Jesus came to make me free.

Like a Good Shepherd searching
For the lost sheep that had gone astray,
He heard my cry, came down from on High,
And sought me out that day.

Now there’s hope beyond the shadows -
A Light shining out for all to see;
I see the Man with nail-pierced hands,
The Saviour who died to rescue me.

Jesus broke through all my darkness
When I heard the Gospel sound;
Now I know His voice, and I truly rejoice:
The lost sheep has now been found.

The Light is shining in your darkness,
Reaching out and seeking too;
God came near, and the voice you hear
Is the Good Shepherd calling you.

Luke 15:4-7 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

2 Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
